Here is a detailed breakdown of the content of the YouTube video titled "Fareed Zakaria Predicts Trump's Next Move in the Iran War":

1. Islamabad MOU Failure & Strait of Hormuz Crisis

Memorandum of Misunderstanding [00:06]: Fareed Zakaria characterizes the Islamabad MOU as dead and poorly negotiated.

Control of Maritime Channels [00:41]: Three channels exist in the Strait of Hormuz (Iranian, Omani, and International/middle). Iran insists ships navigate exclusively through its channel under

Iranian coordination [00:55], effectively asserting de facto control [01:29].

Shift in U.S. Objectives [01:55]:

Original Goal: Regime change in Iran [02:01].

Second Goal: Permanent end to the Iranian nuclear and ballistic missile programs [02:18].

Third/Current Goal: Reopening the Strait of Hormuz [02:40].

U.S. Strategic Objective Evolution:

[Regime Change] ---> [Nuclear/Missile Program Termination] ---> [Reopen Strait of Hormuz]

2. Trump's Threat Credibility & Economic Bottlenecks

Threat N

eutralization [03:46]: Trump frequently uses unfulfilled threats (e.g., targeting power plants or Kharg Island) as "trial balloons" [04:26].

Economic Constraints [05:10]: The primary deterrent preventing major strikes on Iranian infrastructure is fear of Iranian retaliation [05:26]. Escalation could push oil prices to $125–$150/barrel [05:34], triggering a global recession, inflation, and political fallout prior to the U.S. midterms [05:47].

3. Iran's Internal Dynamics & Miscalculations

Nationalism & Overplaying Their Hand [07:30]: Iran's ideological stance and nationalist anger over U.S. bombings lead to self-defeating moves, despite economic incentives to keep the peace [08:02].

Shift to Military Dictatorship [10:36]: The war has empowered the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Cor

4. Realignment of Regional Geopolitics

Saudi vs. UAE Strategy [13:23]:

UAE Strategy: Military pressure and containment (closer to the Israeli approach) [13:30].

Saudi Strategy: Dialogue and normalization with Iran mediated by China [13:47].

Emergence of a Post-American Security Order [14:57]: Regional players are negotiating directly with Iran or turning to China [14:39], leading to a scaling back of the U.S.

military presence [15:42].

Country / Faction Primary Strategic Approach Key Relationships / Influence

United States Military deterrence, naval blockades, sanctions Shifting alliances, facing scaling-back pressures

Iran (IRGC) Control over Strait of Hormuz, asymmetric retaliation Dominant domestic military power

Saudi Arabia Diplomatic dialogue, de-escalation Chinese mediation, non-confrontation

UAE Active containment, military alignment Israel, U.S.

Special Operations Risk [17:54]: While ground invasion is unlikely, Trump could be tempted by surgical special operations (e.g., seizing facilities on Kharg Island) [18:01].

The "Cut and Run" Outcome [20:17]: Zakaria predicts Trump's pragmatic tendency will prompt him to seek a face-saving exit [21:20] rather than double down, treating the geopolitical impasse like a business restructuring/bankruptcy [20:51].

There is no International channel in Hormuz, only Omani and Iranian.

What international water go and educate yourself
@trendingviews4086
Trump seems more confused now than before the war.

IRGC WANTS TO CRIPPLE THE GOLIATH

I disagree with Mr Zakaria that US would have gone away after the MOU. I firmly believe that the MOU was a decoy in order to let the stranded ships get out with their oil and fertilizers etc and also to buy some time to replenish ammunitions.
@alvinseah5423
US didn't release a single cent of the frozen funds. Only gave excuses.
@DaveWright-wb2qz
What’s the difference between the Vietnam war and the Iran war?
@jauhariakash
Good intelligent questions
@MohanKaffi-vk3nr
Iranians are very logical people, look at their capabilities while under thousands of sanctions.
@vijayjan8608
Zero chance of American boots on the ground… in a mountainous region full of highly motivated Iranians… casualties can go up exponentially for the US.
@pptk101
I disagree with Fareed on that Iran got everything they needed with MOU. JD Vance already said it was just ploy to buy time for them to come back with a bigger bombing campaign after mid term elections. Iran has shown it has the capability to strike anyone in the region. Iran should take note what happened to Libya, you can never trust them.
@manwingchi9156
At any moment, Trump will claim Iran or other countries begging him to stop bombing, This is to save face. This is Trump Style and using it many time in this war. 😂😂😂People call Trump TACO with no reason.
@alikhadem4775
What international waters in Hormuz are you talking about? There is none. It either belongs to Iran or Oman.
@ArashMarzbanan
Fareed has rented his brain to American war monergism. you forgot who started the war? who killed thousands of Iranians including 168 girls all under 12 years old?
