Here is a detailed review of the Huawei P20 lite based on the video:

Design and Build

Appearance & Display: The phone draws aesthetic inspiration from higher-end flagships like the Huawei P20 Pro and iPhone X, featuring a notched, edge-to-edge screen [00:36]. The reviewed model comes in Sakura pink with a shiny finish around the rear-mounted fingerprint reader and dual camera [00:43].

Build Details: It is lightweight with a metal frame providing a decent grip [01:05]. However, notice was raised about a gap be

tween the back and the frame that might collect dust over time, and the device lacks waterproofing [01:02].

Biometrics & Extras: The rear fingerprint reader is fast and responsive, and facial recognition is also supported for unlocking the device [01:12]. A notification LED is included [01:18], along with a hybrid slot for expanding storage up to 32GB or 64GB [01:24]. Unlike the standard P20, the P20 lite retains a 3.5mm headphone jack and supports FM radio [01:41].

Display Quality

Panel Specs: Features a 5.8

-inch IPS LCD screen with minimal bezels and an 19:9 aspect ratio [01:51]. It offers deep blacks for an LCD, and the notch can be hidden by turning the upper display strip black if preferred [02:02].

Performance: While it reaches a decent brightness of around 480 nits indoors, its sunlight legibility is only barely average [02:09].

Software and Performance

Software: Runs EMUI 8.0 on top of Android 8.0 Oreo smoothly, offering customizable themes, app drawer options, and proprietary Huawei apps [02:16].

Hardwar

e: Powered by a Kirin 659 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM [02:36]. While the processor has been around for a couple of years and trails newer mid-range competition in graphics benchmarks, games run without glaring issues or excessive thermal throttling [02:50].

Battery Life and Charging

Endurance: Equipped with a 3,000 mAh battery that achieved a 77-hour endurance rating in tests [03:01].

Charging: Comes with a fast charger (market dependent), though charging speeds were mixed, reaching between 19% and 30% in

the first half-hour and taking up to three hours for a full charge [03:08].

Camera Performance

Rear Cameras: Features a dual-camera setup consisting of a 16-megapixel main sensor with phase detection autofocus and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor dedicated to depth sensing for bokeh effects [03:25]. Leica branding and black-and-white sensors are absent [03:31].

Photo Quality: In good lighting, shots feature great contrast, accurate colors, and above-average dynamic range [03:36]. Low-light photos are okay with

low noise, though slightly soft and washed out, and the dedicated night mode falls short of the higher-end P20 series [03:50]. Portrait and variable aperture modes offer decent background defocus, though edge detection can sometimes miss fine details [04:08].

Front Camera: The 16-megapixel selfie camera performs well with good detail and pleasing colors, even outperforming some competitors in low-light conditions [04:26].

Video: Video recording is limited to 1080p at 30fps with no stabilization [04:45]. Quali

ty-wise, it has average sharpness and dynamic range, though colors and contrast remain solid [04:52].

Conclusion

The Huawei P20 lite offers a premium design, a nice display, and a decent camera setup for its price point, but faces stiff competition from other mid-range devices priced around 300 euros due to an aging chipset and limitations in video recording and low-light photography [05:00].

Brought this phone today off most of the reviews I've seen on YouTube and I'm so happy that I made the right choice. It's a great smart phone if your on a budget like myself. The battery is great and don't listen to anyone regarding the brightness being too low it's fine. Camera is good and it's very quick too apps open in Milli seconds. Highly highly recommend this phone.

Lasted me very well the past 3 years. It's slowed down significantly since I first got it, and the battery isn't very reliable anymore, but it was great while it lasted.

No hate but you look like you're from a Filipino crime drama movie from the 80s

Some reviewers say that there are better choices at this price range, but what are they?
@jarednil69
I own the P20 lite and it's great. The only problem I have is I can't hear my notification sounds for some reason. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next update. The camera is far superior to my old phone the Samsung Galaxy S5. As for charging time! My phone charged within 1 hour to full.
