Here is a detailed breakdown of the Samsung Galaxy A51 5G review from GSMArena:

Design and Build

The device shares a very similar visual design with its predecessor, featuring a prism cube white color option and a glossy back with a striped pattern accent [00:21].

While the back material remains polycarbonate, the phone introduces a notable upgrade with an aluminum frame, giving it a more premium feel in the hand [00:36].

Display

It is equipped with a 6.5-inch Super AMOLE

D display with a 1080p resolution and a circular cutout for the 32-megapixel selfie camera [00:48].

The screen delivers excellent contrast and high brightness, reaching up to 410 nits with the manual slider and up to 614 nits in auto mode outdoors [01:02].

An under-display fingerprint reader is included, which unlocks the phone reliably though it is not the fastest on the market [01:22].

Audio and Storage

Audio is handled by a single bottom-firing speaker that scores an a

verage rating in loudness, sounding somewhat muffled and lacking in low and mid-tones [01:35].

The phone retains a traditional headphone jack and includes FM radio support when headphones are plugged in [01:55].

It comes with 128GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded via microSD [02:02].

Software and Performance

The device runs Samsung's One UI on top of Android 10, featuring edge panels and Google Duo integration directly into the dialer [02:18].

Under the

hood, it packs an Exynos 980 chipset—a significant upgrade over the Exynos 9611 found in the regular 4G model—delivering performance comparable to the Snapdragon 765G [02:40].

The phone handles games and multitasking smoothly without noticeable thermal throttling, alongside built-in 5G connectivity [03:02].

Battery Life and Charging

Powered by a 4,500 mAh battery, it achieves a slightly improved endurance rating of 90 hours compared to the 86 hours on the older model [03

:15].

The included 15-watt charger takes the phone from 0% to 40% in half an hour [03:30].

Camera Performance

Rear Cameras: Features an L-shaped quad-camera setup consisting of a 48-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 5-megapixel macro camera, and a depth sensor [03:42].

Daylight: The main camera captures detailed photos with good dynamic range and vivid colors [03:55]. Portrait shots deliver great subject separation [04:25], and the ultra-wide came

ra matches the main shooter well in quality [04:35].

Low-Light: Shows noticeable improvements over the vanilla A51, with better detail and saturation, especially when utilizing the dedicated night mode on both the main and ultra-wide lenses [05:01].

Front Camera: The 32-megapixel selfie camera produces sharp images with excellent dynamic range [05:45].

Video: Supports 4K video recording on both the front and rear cameras [06:06], featuring electronic video stabilization a

nd a Super Steady mode utilizing the ultra-wide camera at 1080p [06:58].

Conclusion

The Galaxy A51 5G retails for around $500, placing it about $200 higher than the standard 4G version [07:35].

Beyond 5G connectivity, the price upgrade justifies itself through better chipset performance, improved low-light camera capabilities, and enhanced battery longevity [07:22].

I started out as an iPhone nazi from the very first model until the iPhoneX then I decided to take a leap of faith and finally try Android out with the Galaxy A20 about 9 months ago. I really liked the versatility and freedom of the open source software vs the prison style OS on the iPhone but the camera and build quality over all left something to be desired. When the A51 5G came out I was extremely impressed with the demo model I played around with so I bought the phone outright from my provider. I've been wondering if I made a mistake choosing this over the iPhone 12 but this video reassured me "a little" lol! Obviously the iPhone 12 would have been a much better choice but I wanted to stick with the freedom of the Android OS and so far I'm loving the phone! Crisp clean display, amazing camera, decent build quality, jam packed with cool features, and fast asf! Overall the A20 left a bad taste in my mouth for the aforementioned reasons but the A51 has restored my faith that sticking with Android was a good decision!

Got this phone last month for €290 and couldn't be happier 🙂 the speakers aren't bad by any means, sure when you compare to an s20 note it's not great but when comparing it to the phone you're upgrading from it's gonna be a little better.
