Everyone talks about her production, or her visuals, or the fact every song is unskippable, but can we talk about the lyrical genius Slayyyter really is? A beat up Chanel was the perfect metaphor for the liminal space between wanting to be this epitome of beauty and wealth, but understanding the truth of your background and the insecurities that come with that. The person she loves leaves her for a brand new Chanel, so were her insecurities valid? She was the one who wanted sex, money, dr*gs, but now it’s him. She was the one who wanted to be a brand new Chanel, accepted she was a beat up one, and now understands that others don’t accept her for what she is. But we always will. She’s amazing!
