The Redmi 9T is an entry-level phone that packs a lot of nice features for the money. It also happens to be very similar to another related device, the Poco M3. In this full review, we take a look at the differences and evaluate the Redmi 9T's build and screen quality, battery life, performance, and camera image quality. ▶ To lea
Here is a detailed review of the Xiaomi Redmi 9T based on the video: Overview The Xiaomi Redmi 9T is positioned as an entry-level smartphone. It shares many similarities with the Poco M3 but offers a few extra features, making it a compelling option in its price bracket. Design and Build Aesthetics: The device features a glossy metallic finish with a unique star-shaped light reflection pattern and a vinyl-like texture on the back for better grip [00:42]. Durability: While it lacks an official IP rating, the phone offers useful splash-proofing [00:56]. Display and Audio Screen: It sports a 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel with a 1080p resolution and Gorilla Glass 3 protection [01:19]. The full HD resolution is a highlight, as many entry-level devices only offer 720p [01:26]. Audio: One of its standout features in this price range is the stereo speaker setup, which provides excellent, clear, and full sound [01:46]. It also includes a 3.5mm headphone jack and FM radio support [02:06]. Performance and Battery Hardware: Under the hood, it is powered by the Snapdragon 662 chipset (11nm process) [02:32]. While benchmark performance is expected for its class, users might notice occasional hiccups during gaming or navigating the UI [02:46]. Battery Life: The massive 6,000 mAh battery is a major strength, earning an impressive score of 150 hours in tests [03:07]. Charging: Charging is relatively slow, supporting only 18W power input [03:12]. Camera System Main Camera: Features a 48MP quad-bayer main sensor [04:12]. Daytime photos are sharp with good contrast and detail [04:24]. Low-light performance is underwhelming without Night Mode, but enabling Night Mode significantly improves exposure, noise control, and detail [05:19]. Other Cameras: Ultrawide (8MP): Adds versatility compared to the Poco M3, though images are rather soft [04:12]. Macro (2MP): Lacks autofocus, making it difficult to get consistently sharp results [04:59]. Video: Limited to 1080p at 30fps without stabilization; quality is generally lacking in sharpness and dynamic range [05:59]. Software The phone runs MIUI 12 based on Android 10, which includes handy features like an app drawer and an IR blaster for controlling appliances [03:34]. Users may encounter occasional ads, which helps keep the device's price lower [04:00]. Conclusion The Redmi 9T provides a solid entry-level experience with its splash-proof design, sharp display, loud stereo speakers, and exceptional battery life [06:21]. While the chipset and night-time camera performance are average for this category, the reviewer recommends it over the Poco M3 for the added benefits of NFC, the ultrawide camera, and splash-proofing [06:45]. For those who are thinking of buying this in 2022, please stay away. Poco M3 and its twin, Redmi 9T, suffer from the “dead boot” issue. If you try to reboot, it will shut down but not boot up. No combination of power and volume button presses can turn it on. Only solution is to wait for the battery to fully drain, then connect to a charger. If the empty battery icon appears, try to turn it on. If it goes back to deadboot, try again (drain battery, connect to charger, try to turn on). Took me 3 tries before I succeeded, and now the phone must avoid reboots.

Xiaomi must re continue the Redmi S/Y series. Those phones were also budget phones, but there weren't any hiccups.
